I was wondering how Port positions itself in terms of recent features of Datadog (App Builder, workflows, private runners, service catalog, teams) - it seems that datadog is another powerful alternative next to Port and Backstage

Some feedback: Whenever I add a new property, I am zoomed out automatically and then I have to look for the blueprint again. Its cumbersome since my model is quite big so its annoying to search for it after every property addition. It would be better if I just stuck to the same view as I add or maybe there is a way to fix a blueprint to window when you are adding properties.

Hey, A new feature has been added to Port GitHub app exporter, allowing you to export and analyze files from GitHub repositories. This enhancement significantly boosts your capabilities in handling and parsing both JSON and YAML files, enabling the creation of entities from these configurations. Common use cases can be: β€’ Analyzing
    package.json
to analyze & map dependencies & relations between projects β€’ Analyzing
    CODEOWNERS
file to create relations (ownership) between teams and services β€’ Analyzing helm charts & various other yaml configuration files and attach these details to existing services Limitations: β€’ Any file bigger than 512KB will not be analyzed Attaching here 1 small example of me creating
    package
blueprint and grouping them by services in my organization Docs available here: https://docs.getport.io/build-your-software-catalog/sync-data-to-catalog/git/github/#ingest-files-from-your-repositories Stay tuned for more features!

Hi we are interested in building out a Service Catalog and a Cloud Cost Reporting tool. Seems like Port might help with both of those! So I installed the github app and ingested all my repo info, but I'm wondering how do I get going with the cost reporting stuff https://www.getport.io/usecase/cloud-cost-management?

New feature alert - Persistent views 🚨 Developers can now customize their Port widgets, and changes will be saved automatically. No need to set things up every log inβ€”Port now remembers preferences and they will be saved in the local machine. To go back to the original view, just click the reset button and you're all set! Try it out and let us know what you think! 🌟

Leaders and platform engineers: What questions are you asking your devs? How do you know what they want? The new statistics about the disconnect between what devs actually want and what managers think they want are bonkers!
